Jan 2016 player, my shard never saw Old Ben as a dominant force for anything. I've spent ages farming plenty of 'must have' characters from the Cantina. I've got every single Arena and GW character at 330 shards, and all of the Cantina shop ones except Pao (230 for him). Yes, it's possible to have a *lot* of characters worked on and yet not have one particular one done.

Off hand, I'd just finished off the Sith Trooper and was working on Sith Assassin when I found out that Old Ben was necessary, and lacked crystals due to paying out thousands over the last few months to get Nihilus to 7*.

It's entirely possible to be short on a particular character simply because other things were always a higher priority until suddenly they aren't.

Maybe we'll see packs/double drops/shard shop slots, but if someone needs hundreds of shards (I need 269 for Old Ben, personally), it might take a miracle to be able to participate, and dumping effort and resources into that climb means being behind on something else.

When a new event requires the Sith Assassin and mine's only at 5 stars, will that be a sign that my efforts to build Old Ben up were ill advised? Or that the TFP should've been prioritized, despite the raid parts he's best at are on farm?

The business model is entirely built on us forever chasing the new character/gear grind treadmill, it's a bit uncouth to claim that everyone should have everything when the system is designed for this to not be possible for many (if not most) players without spending massive amounts of cash.

Never sleep on farming toons that don't seem important. When Luke's journey was announced months back I assumed we would need toons from A New Hope and Tesb. All the characters of the movies that was associated with Luke I made sure to farm...even Chewy.

I know it isn't easy and it takes awhile...but farm everything you can to 7*, and worry later about gearing them up. It better to be prepared and atleast get the new toons from events at 5* better than not at all.

The difference with this event is he unlocks at 7* only. Something tells me it's gonna be more challenging than the normal events we are use to seeing. It would be wise to farm as much gear as possible to G11 Ben,Leia,R2,STH and FarmboyLuke just incase. Wait to use the gear until the event goes live..if you can beat it without maxing gear..then great, but it's best to be safe just incase we can't.

When events aren't live...farm a full 7* squad for each faction that way you'll be prepared for future events. Only downside is that this does take time...but farming everyday does add up in the long run.

Also read carefully when the devs talk about events...sometimes there is a key word that kinda gives a heads up.

It absolutely does. You can refresh the shop.

If people had a stock pile of arena money we wouldn't even be talking about this so, no. It doesn't help at all. & not everyone chases the arena meta so even tho st han has been able to be farmed for a long time (tired of people saying this) not all of needed or wanted him. For example I built up a bounty hunter team because I like bounty hunters & they work for credit heist so I never needed or wanted st han.

Nearly anyone who cares about arena probably refreshes arena as well.

So spend the 50 crystals on 5 more attempts to get more tokens in return.

Sure if you've been stockpiling arena tokens for a long time. Most people who need STH and /or Leia have not been doing that.

If you've been playing over a year, chances are you have these characters ready. For those of us that were not around when Leia or Ben really mattered. Its a real problem.

So basically you're a newer player and you want the same access as people who have been playing much longer than you.

Unfortunately that's not how it works in game or in real life. The sooner you realize this, the better off you'll be.

Are you serious. Maybe you should go back and read.....this entire thread is about st han. That is what I have been talking about this entire time. I'm done arguing with you. I know what I need to do and I'm doing it.

Don't worry about sitting there thinking of some way to make it look like you know what you're talking about. I won't be back to read it.

Sigh... even if you were talking about StHan you would be paying to have 80 shards of a character turned into shard shop currency worth 10 sthan shards. On the other hand if you bought just crystals to refresh cantina and simmed a node of 8 energy for a character you already had you would get a lot more than 80 shards plus a ton of cantina currency.

As you are clearly unable to see the issue please just go ahead and waste your monies.

My iPad notifications are saying there is packs to be bought in store. So that is going to be one way to get more shards

Feb 2017 noob here, StHan I agree with, as he was suggested by multiple people on the boards and in my Guild.

Leia? Well, Sidious, Ackbar, and Tarkin took a boat load to get to at least 6*. Then there was that catch-up mad rush to get Kanan for Thrawn. Sprinkled in between all farming, the occasional Windu was needed as the Hard nodes didn't drop enough on time.

Not that I don't like Leia, but HK-47 and IG-88 would have been better choices. So if I didn't have to do Kanan or Leia, I would have gotten one of those droids to a little over 6*, maybe even halfway by now.

As it stands now, Kanan is 5*, StHan is 6*, and Leia is now just 3*.
