Funny True Story....

So I've heard wild stories about people losing access to their accounts and hackers etc using their crystals or selling their mods or doing all sorts of things. I've always thought in some of these stories there was probably some account selling/recovery scamming going on because I'm a glass half-full kind of person like that. But I got to take part in the best story to date...

So someone I know bought an account from what I guess is a "reputable" account seller. I know the account buyer from other multiplayer games although not directly affiliated through SWGoH. They're the kind of individual that dabbles frequently in RMT markets and has for as long as I've known them (10+ years). Kind of a don't ask, don't talk about it thing.

Well after some time they sent me a message and said "Hey, these guys are trying to scam me". They went on to explain that they got a message from their guild that he had abruptly left and it prompted him to check details. Sure enough someone had logged into the account, and was trying to force them off sending him subtle hints they were the original owner and that he needed to get his own account. Now like I said, my friend has frequented the RMT world for some time, and let me be clear I DO NOT encourage it. But one thing I will say is: They don't like scamming. They treat it like a business. It was openly described as a resold account and safe (I guess take that for what it's worth) from a previous owner.

So to wrap up a long story they call me into discord where they pondering what to do. They had contacted the seller that had stated there wasn't much they could do as they assumed there might have been previous owners on the account. So the next thing I know they screen share themselves deleting a 14+ million GP account and say "Problem solved".

Ethical moral of the story: Don't buy/sell/trade accounts
Unethical moral of the story: If you do sell your account don't try to scam someone.
