Just because it doesn't technically require real world money, doesn't mean it isn't gambling. Did you ever make a bet with a friend were the loser has to do something 's tupid, or when you were a kid make a bet with your siblings that the loser has to do the others chores. Both of those are examples of gambles that don't require money, and I'm sure there are plenty of others.
What's your point though? He's saying don't buy the crystals packs if you don't like gambling, wich is a great advice. You get exactly what you pay for because you pay with real money instead of with crystals.
