Watched the videos, followed their guidelines, tried nearly 200 times so far and not even close to how easy they made it look. All G12 like they said... working on relics anyway. The RNG in this game ...

Crit avoidance simply reduces the attacker's crit chance. How useful it is depends on how high the attacker's crit chance was to begin with.
Just FYI, promoting a crit avoidance arrow to 6-dot boosts its primary stat from 24% to 35%, a significant improvement.
