General Discussion?

Why does it seem more like the opposite is true though? Do less posts get a dev response than they used to, or are the devs less aware of player issues than they used to be?

General discussion is being geared towards new content and events. Which will be moved to correct sub forum at a later date.

The goal is to use the subs correctly to allow discussion to thrive without getting buried by GW posts.

People don't like merged threads so to keep content organized the subs are being used. This was the original intent of the setup but was never used this way, we are being directed to make this push to help get it back on track.

Many people acknowledge they know things are being moved and don't want to utilize the subs, because no one uses them. This is a catch 22. And also proves you can lead a horse to water, but can't make him drink whiskey. :wink:

thats what i was told when my General discussion yesterday regarding the recent clocks / time change which affects 90% of the game from raid, tb, events, refreshes, shops, arena and more was moved to feedback arena??????
seriously even a general discussion about the full game is not allowed to stay in "general discussion"
but all the other posts there that "should" be moved as they actually do have sub forums are left with mods actually commenting on them.

Most of the posts you are referring to have to do with recent events or content which is why I explained that to you.

Mods have no control over the descriptions and titles of the forum. All we know is changes are coming and the direction/ reasoning we are given.

A post about DLS while important to some may not be as general as you think as there are areas of the world that do not observe this practice.

Any advice or suggestions can be directed to " the boss" she makes all the decision (at least that what she said in her last gif to us) :wink:

Thank you @Kyno for providing a little clarity on this. Surely though, questions regarding the Nightsister event and the inevitable, "How are we going to use these new toons" queries would mean that it should be placed in the Character Strategies category to keep consistency.

I sympathise that topics like the above make your work harder, especially when a thread can be moved to more than one category or is, "Current", this thread was rightly so moved to Forum Feedback.

A more accurate name for General Discussion would reduce the ambiguity and some people might even start posting in the right place to make your jobs easier! Instead of posting in General Discussion for maximum exposure to their post.

The NS events are "new" content, which is why they are there. But will eventually be moved as they lose their shine. (Not new)

Changes are coming and we are working to get everyone into the habits of realizing the forum is not just the first 2-3 pages of GD. The new Events section was the first move and others will follow, but I am not in control of any of that and just follow the directions we are given. Please message <> with your suggestions on this matter.

Moving threads really is meaningless if people use the recent discussions section, But what bothers me is when threads are closed because, 1. the mod/dev THINKS the problem is solved(which was not true about people being autokicked from guilds) 2. The topic is closed and archived cause its related to a bug(When the thread was to have a conversation about the bug and how people deal with it, not to report it as I could care less about reporting bugs to a company that refuses to work on bugs and glitches that have been around 1+ years).

I get the idea to close threads when they get extremely toxic or its a necro that is irrelevant at this time, But no other threads should be closed. Whats the point of a forum? to discuss the game. So dont close threads where people are having an active discussion. Its bananas

Topics being closed vs bugs and issues is different.

Bugs and issues need to be reported to the <> because that is where they are being handled now as per <>. We are not closing it because we think it is resolved, we have no control over that site and it need to get there to be addressed. Bugs and issues was archived and any post there is locked from commenting. Even from us. So we post the correct location for the OP to go and move it there because it is a bug and issue and we want people to see the correct information on how to get it dealt with.

An open discussion on a site that is not reviewed by the people who can fix these issues isn't really necessary, because all it will do is fuel a fire with baseless accusations like the one you made. Please refrain from doing that, I would like this conversation to stay open. (They do care, and work on a lot of things.)

personally i don't like how the subforums are set up. GW, one of the main game modes and hot topic since day one, is under feedback for example (making it a sub sub forum), but the yoda event has it's own subforum. That just doesn't make sence to me. Same thing with ships. Also, why are there 2 subforums about characters? It's just confusing and not user friendly imo.
If it were up to me i'd give the whole forum a make-over. Haven't really given it alot of thought, but there's alot of room for improvement as far as userfriendlyness. I would have given it some more thought if i didn't think it was futile to make suggestions.
Anyway, i don't envy the mods. It seems like alot of ungratefull work that they (afaik) don't get compensated for. While i've been uphappy with how the mods handled certain situations that i was part of, i'm still glad they are here to moderate. People with a voice and annonimity often don't make for the most civil participants in discussions, specially if there are thousands of them.
