1. What happens when you get both characters to 7 stars? You shouldn't get shard shop currency because no more redundant shards so this event ends up providing absolutely nothing to players who have both at 7 stars.
Um...no. Shard shop currency works just fine at that point. Where did I ever say this would not be the case?
2. The economy of the game would no longer exist. Farming would no longer be a thing because of other events like Military Might, Contraband Cargo, Ground War, Forest Moon (etc.) will also provide guaranteed toons that you haven't bothered to farm
I actually don't think that would be a bad idea either. But your conclusion that "farming would no longer be a thing" is wrong. There are LOTS of characters and ships to farm that are not awarded in events like this of any kind. I'll even go so far as to say that if EVERY one of the toons farmable by these events--which, again, only come along once or twice a month if that--were fully 7*, I suspect it wouldn't impact what the vast majority of players are actively farming.
3. This isn't Galactic Bounties. That's the format where you get to choose which toon you want. You could've requested a Galactic Bounties III with NS Spirit shards in the feedback section of the forum for the devs
Bringing an unrelated event into the discussion has no impact on the validity of my original suggestion.
4. Its a very selfish request from a player who doesn't want to put the effort of farming a toon and wants a toon given for free and is not open to any other point of view
Um, no. There are lot of players who would benefit and be more interested in this event as result (folks missing zombie just as well as those missing spirit). The fact that YOU, personally, aren't interested--maybe because you already have both at 7* and would rather others not get the same--speaks more to YOUR selfishness than anyone else's.
5. This event IS the developers throwing you a bone here. Its not like they gave you NS Spirit shards as the October login either. Don't bite the hand that feeds
It's not "biting the hand that feeds" to make a suggestion that a lot of players would appreciate.
6. Where is your data to support that you only gotten Spirit shards twice since the inception of the event? This is pretty hard to believe
And yet, it's the truth. I don't need to prove anything to you, though, especially since you've already made your mind up that I'm "selfish" for making the suggestion to the devs. Where is your data to support that I haven't? More importantly, what would that prove? You'd just shrug and reference RNG.
