As I, and no doubt countless other people mentioned weeks ago, basing matches on GP is a set-up for failure.I have an opponent now, I have the same teams, but one 'small' problem: all his/her teams are completely superior. Minimum 10k GP higher, clearly higher gear etc. I used up four teams alone attacking one, the lowest powered, and still can't beat that team, and there are 4 others to beat higher/much higher GP. Best solution: quit. There's no point stressing myself further.Hop next time the tables are turned and my opponent is clearly weaker.

If you have matching (character) GP, then your opponent simply developed a better roster than you — better for Gran Arena and TW, that is.

I had the complete opposite. My opponent got basically crushed so utterly that it was silly.I don't understand the point of this game mode. It's not fun, it doesn't give good rewards, and it further burdens us with even more time consumption.

Level up heroes you don't need, to help your guild in TB, and then a year later get punished for it, by people who couldn't give a crap about their guild. Makes sense to me.... not.

So, i along with several people from my guild are getting royally screwed. In my case, and similar for others, i have been playing since launch day 3 years ago, and have about 4.4 million GP. I've spent a lot of time and effort (not to mention money) building up all my characters. not only because i like collecting, but as a guild we'd made a conscious effort to max for TBs... as a guild we're in the 190+ million GP range. i have lots of teams, and several viable teams. What do i get matched with? some person who hasn't bothered to level up/gear up his bottom 1/4-1/3 of his roster- and the literal remainder are all G12, basically maxed. we have nearly the exact the same GP, but his active viable GP is as if they were probably 400k higher if they'd filled out their bottom roster like i and others have. the exact same thing happened on the first day when it was crashing.i realize you need some method of match making, and i'm not sure what a better solution might be, but within the bounds of what we have, can you set it up to exclude from the calculation the bottom, say, 30% of our rosters, so it actually pairs equally??? maybe do a 1st calculation based on actual, so we're not paired with a 5MM uber whale, but run a 2nd calculation based on viable teams?thanks

no, that's not what i said at all. and no i don't expect to win every fricking time. what i do expect is to have a fighting chance based on the time and effort i've put into the game, and as it stands i and many others have no fighting chance.

If you've been in since day 1, and spend money, you should have the 12 teams necessary for any GA victory. You can't say you've spent any more or less time and effort than someone else - they've just specialised by the sounds of it, whereas you're a generalist and/or completist. The closer the match the more mirrors there's going to be, which would be way worse.

Imo learn how to play with the enemy teams weeknesses. My opponent for example did put a full g12 full zeta FO Team for defense. I beat them with g11 zFinn, G11 Poe, g12 ResTrooper and G11 ResPilot.
His JTR Team got 3-manned by my CLS/Han/Chewie etc.

You DID get matched equally. You opponent just developed his roster better for TW/GA than you did.

I don't understand players who complain that "it isn't fair" because someone developed there team better than you did. It's how the game works.

The only change i would make would be to use the GP of the top 6 per squad required for that matchup. So if you needed to set 5 defensive squads it would be top 60(gotta remember offensive squads). If you only required two squads, it would be top 24. I like the +1 to act as sort of a buffer so it considers more than just the slots for the squads. Depth behind that should count, but after a certain point it doesn't matter anymore.

I’m f2p I just cleared my opponents 6 teams while he still has my stronger three defense teams to clear, how did I do that you say... I looked at my opponents roster, figured what would be on defense and made sure I kept counter teams for offense, then left defense of what I had left that would be annoying to beat..
I even managed to keep my traya team for offense, planning, that’s all..
I’m at 3.4 mil and in a 190 mil guild as well..
It almost sounds op that you fluffed your gp to make yourself look bigger And badder than your roster really is..

I'm probably closer to the OP in terms of more roster width than depth, but I also looked at what my opponent had and what teams he could conceivably use and chose accordingly. The top 10 or so of his roster were probably all higher than my highest, but my synergy teams carried the day. Course, he chose ZVader over ZPalpatine to lead his Empire/Sith defense so that helped.

You can't blame the matchmaking for the choices you, or others have made in this game.

If like me, you focus pretty much on arena, then you're set. If you focused on TB/Raids then probably not so much. GP is GP - how you built teams is your problem, not the Devs
