GW - Insanely hard now

I also happen to believe GW is due for an algorithm update because it is capable of fielding teams that newer players cannot hope to compete with. It would be crazy upsetting, and you can see it in these posts. While I do still believe the answer is to widen your roster instead of just focusing on one good team, even this technique could fail for newer players who simply do not have the advantages older players have enjoyed.
I find GW challenging. I enjoy it. I painstakingly built my roster over nearly two years to get here. However, some of these characters were basically given to me in the now-defunct Tournaments. No, I could not unlock 7* Tournament characters, but just by participating I earned:
I got those characters basically just because I was playing the game at the time. There were players with much worse rosters than me who managed to finish #1 for a full 7* Baze. The only way to get Baze now is by farming LS 9C, which will give you 1 shard a day, if you can even beat that node, which is just not possible for many players.
The point is, these characters are unicorns to newer players, and they can help a ton once you gear them. They can absolutely help you through a tough GW. Older players just got them for being here. It just doesn't seem right that a player would have to face the OP Chaze duo when there is no way to get a Baze themselves.
Yeah, it seems GW could use an overhaul.
However, there are other characters that are also very good, but are available through Marquee events; the Legendary characters. These are characters that take lots of time and a diverse roster to unlock. Should these be in GW? I say yes, but not every node.
I do not understand players who say it takes too much time. Isn't that the point of a game, to waste time?

- Baze Malbus

- Is that all? I think Cassian Andor was a reward, as was Vader's TIE, but I did not get those.

In order to comfortably complete GW at whatever GW classification I am in I have to pump TM, not get hit and keep every CD available through node 6. Then I have to minimize taking hits and keep all CD's available through 7-12. That takes a lot of time. Then it takes forever resetting nodes 7-12 or 7-11 depending on what days I have a broken node 12... which causes more time sink because I have to assume a non-broken node 12.
