How are the non top 10% retaining motivation.

so have loved this game for over a year now. but I'm really struggling for motivation.

my situation.

stuck in the top 20 region of both arenas
no longer able to complete gw
guild still unable to complete Haat but both other raids over in the space of 20 mins / 6hrs.

Dilema

so what is my motivation right now as I can't find one :(

subtext

not moaning about these situations. genuinely looking for what keeps us engaged when stuck in no where land.

thanks all

yeah it seems like changing guilds would be the only option. but I would feel guilty doing that as we have a full 50 guild that has been together from the start. I have a fairly good squad. maybe someone could just take it over if I gave them password ?

You've got a nice roster! I guess what it boils down to is this: what do you enjoy in this game? I started playing March 2016 and quit July 2016. I was consistently top 5 in arena and top damage in the pit. I quit because I was bored and modgate really got to me. I came back late December 2016 because my eldest wanted to play as Darth Vader and found the motivation I was missing- Palpatine... He was the toon I really wanted! He was advertised on iOS from the beginning but wasn't in game! So I farmed him. I found ships fun at first but stopped caring soon after I 3* the zeta challenge. I joined a new guild who had their eyes on the horizon-haat farming. We ran our first haat attempt in mid May and failed on p3. Memorial Day, we tried again and stomped it. We've been farming it ever since. My motivation currently is haat teams and GW, both of which I love. I beat GW daily and provide 5m on each haat attempt. I don't care about arenas, stay top 100 in each just to farm. lol I don't even have chaze unlocked nor any shards for either of them.
Long story short- find what you like and run with it. Chase the fun. Get your guild to your roster level, or even close and start farming haat.

thank you man. appreciate that post.

just need to find some sparkle again.
  • Easiest team for both GW and haat- resistance. Seriously, they turn pve into easy mode and can pull very high damage.
  • I've been super addicted for seven months now. I known it won't last forever. I won't spend enough to ever break the top 20 let alone the top 10. I stay top 50 and it lets me progress at a decent pace

That being said, gK is starting to show up a lot in my shard. I wasted my first two months in a random casual guild. The last 5 have been spent in a great guild. However, it was new, so we are still a few months off trying our first HAAT. I'll likely not see anyb kenobi shards til the holidays. That is a major bummer.

My son is in my guild and there are a dozen members or so that chat/stratagize daily. This alone will keep me going for a long while. This new territory battle I feel will make or break a lot of players/guilds. I advise you to stick it out til then. Like a stale relationship, it might give you and your guild a fresh passion.'

My biggest fear after reading this thread is what a previous poster said about failing HAAT. I hope when our time comes, if we fail(I understand a good portion do their first time), we don't fall apart. The dozen or so that chat daily, im confident will stay. The forums are filled with people who return after a break. Perhaps take a month off and return? You will obviously lose a lot of ground/tank but maybe your motivation will return.

He can kind of Solo P3 AAT for me. I just keep all the droids alive so his evasion is super high. I run him with an Old Ben lead so he gains a ton of TM. I also use Yoda with him so I can give him tenacity up and the foresight helps too because it combos with Old Ben. I then use Zarris for heal and semi cleanse and then an taunter like K2 to keep the big shot away.

I thought of running that team but with ben L, ugnought, ewok scout, yoda, and TFP! but I can't cuz TFP, scout and ugnought arn't 7* for me :'(
  • I have to echo other sentiments regarding a 'different' guild. I've chose that word purposely because it's not necessarily all about GK. I haven't got him and must admit it's getting more difficult without him but the best thing about the game to me is often the social part with my guild mates. there's about 15 of us in my guild that just get on well. we help each other, strategise etc. I just enjoy playing with those guys.
  • If you have a group of irl friends playing, have all of them join a guild that is in the brink of farming haat with you. If their rosters are even close to similar as yours, y'all should be able to push them over the edge.
