Since the opponent only set 2 squads on defense, shouldn't OP also have earned points corresponding to 'defeating' the 4 missing teams?
I haven't had a situation like this personally, but I don't think it works this way. And if it did, then OP did terribly in the two battles or is in a bracket with a lot fewer banners. But adding up opponent's score seems to make sense.
It seems like getting full offense banners would be a nice way to further guard against this sort of thing.
