No, don't leave him to his wicked ways. That's the whole point. A group correcting someone's behavior isn't ganging up, its how society works. During this guys payout his attacking is fair game, and if he stopped attacking at all hours and they still hit him i wouldnt condone that either. But dear God any critism or correcting bad behavior doesn't make you a victim regardless of whether it's one person or a group doing it.
If my payout was right before yours and I hit you every day and cost you crystals even though it doesnt give me any more you'd 100% be bitching and trying to get others to help you. I encourage everyone reading this to try it in their fleet arena and see how long they last. It wouldn't be tolerated anywhere in the game.

There is no rule that says you can only attack during your payout. You are not correcting behavior you are enforcing your personal standard on someone else not the games standard, that is bullying.
