So does anyone else think that the amount of salvage to craft g12+ pieces is ludicrous? Non-heroic sith guilds must be furious, I’m in a hSTR guild and I think it’s crazy. The meta will change 2 times by the time I get 1 piece crafted.

Not only do you need to be running Herioc, but you need to be in the top 20% every time, and get enough of the componets to build a full gear - and then congrats, you've got 1 g12+ slot on one of your 5 arena heroes. That's why I was a lot more worried about these slots when they announced back in March/Apr that they'd be heroic only. As soon as these details came out I immediately relaxed, as raid RNG is brutal (we don't run hSith yet).
I think you are missing the point. Ironically, if the drop is "skewed" that's actually worse, as that would mean it's easier to complete a piece. Every piece gives +6 speed (along with other benefits).
Also, the people finishing in the top 10 of most HSith raids are the players who already do so consistently. Add a g12+ piece or two, and it will be even easier for them to stay in the top 20% of the guild (they are compiling pieces at a higher rate than the other 80%).
This issue will only worsen over time as more guilds become HSith capable.
I'm not sure what about the system puts you at ease. I am just the opposite. Once the details and the extremely top heavy structure were released, I found it to be quite disconcerting. And the people that aren't completing HSith yet and are thinking "well, not my problem" - it will be soon enough.
It's tomorrow's problem - got enough worries for today :)

A very looooooooooonnnnngggg time
Or about 2-3 raids....just like I warned.
That's the roster inventory of one of the guys in my arena shard. 1 of 2 people in our top 10 who just added g12+ gear to their arena team. About 1 week after it was released.
Ludicrous speed engaged. Thanks fir ruining the game CG. Excellent QA work as always. Lol.
What's interesting is this could theoretically lead to attrition in the top guilds...people who are finishing in the middle of the pack may want to move to weaker HSTR guilds so they can finish top 3 or top 10.

How exactly is that "interesting"? Then those weaker STR guilds are going to do the same - the mid-range players will move. And then again...and again. And all of those guilds will have to start recruiting replacements. What you oddly consider "interesting" many would call "horrible game design" - especially if leads to player dissatisfaction and people quitting due to the sudden destabilization of the guild structure in the game.
And there is nothing "theoretical" about it. Many strong guilds are already having internal issues as a result (see the g12 MEGA thread for examples).
I had 2 Heroic Raids and both at 1st and 0 full gear12+ how unlucky is that !?! An arena shard mate made 3 raid in 5,3 and 8 and had 3 full pieces how does this odds work !!!,
Considering how much I hate/despise/loathe the sith raid,I’m pretty glad I’m in the mindset to not gaf about the new gear.cant be bothered with this mess.
