Why does the difficulty in this game always jump from being a manageable challenge to utter insanity? I would understand it being a challenge with the required 5* toons, but level 85, well-modded 7* toons at gear levels 9-10 should be a cakewalk.

Why, though?

Stars aren't statistically important for characters outside of hp. A character's stats largely come from gear and mods. The primary use of stars is to act as a gate for content--"You Must Be This Tall To Ride The Rancor" as it were.

Going 6-of-6 should be a feat, not de rigeur.

Not really. You don't need arena mods for these battles. Hell, some of these battles you don't even need full squads...

Now you're just trolling, the idea is obviously to get as many stars as possible not just to take part. You don't win silver

My Phoenix Squad doesn't even have mods and I got 5/6 completion. If I put a white square, diamond, and circle mod and levelled those up to 15 I'd have beaten it handily. No need for arena-level mods.

I did the entire top row of ship battles with three ships each day. Today I brought six because I knew we wouldn't finish the platoon and didn't want to risk it--only needed 4.

You're making this way harder on yourself than you think.

I love TB! Just need to complete expansions of Ship fleet content such as max out 7 stars for capital ships, add more ships, add ship raid level content, add new TB for DS only, add ground vehicle content, so go on. Just add more and more and this game is on way to become one of best mobile game ever came to mobile market! :)
