This actually led me to the answer for something that was perplexing me on an earlier run. My Sidious was landing a ton of DOTs as late as it was first attack on the raid boss. It looks like his DOTs land prior to damage so he should be useful in a Zader team.

No, if the text is correctly worded, he also deals damage first.
I think it is just that you have his zeta, that +50% potency is significant.
Zeta certainly helps but based off mechanics on swgoh.gg his special does the DoTs before damage. DoTs —> damage —> Expose
Weird enough. It seems to me that the description on the special ability is wrong. (or just the swgoh page mechanics, which is unlikely)
If it is so, you should report the text error on customer support.
