The question is, no doubt, where the bar should be set for arguably the most expensive character to ever be released into the game.
In my opinion, he should make Jedi (or whichever synergy team works best) hard to beat for Traya teams, but not impossible, and extremely tough to beat for other teams. In short, teams with Revan should hold better on defence than any other.
Anything short of this is quite simply not worth the investment. We currently have wall to wall Traya killers, Rebels with Chewie can do it, Bastila-led Jedi can already do it, Jango-led bounty hunters can do it, etc.
Revan will be deemed a success if his kit convinces current Traya users to switch to him for reasons other than bragging rights. Anything short of this will be deemed a failure.
1. Definitely not the most expensive. While the timeline is crappy for FTP, the 699 faction pack makes Revan actually quite reasonable. You can get ALL 5 of the old republic characters into normal energy farming range for the event with around 1.5 vaults. Counting Revan, that's 6 toons for that price. From a SWGOH standpoint that's incredibly cheap (from a reality standpoint its still redonkulous).
2. I don't think he needs to make Jedi "Hard" to beat for Traya teams (especially when you consider very few people outside the top 100 guilds even have her unlocked yet, let alone 7*) , but I think he should place them defensively on par with her. By this I mean, that he should make Jedi shut down just as many teams as traya does currently. The reason Traya is still the most run squad is because the teams you mentioned that can beat her are easily beat by multitudes of team compositions. If we get another top level option that can be left on defense, I'll be happy.
