It's dumb that the Vader - Anakin connection is a secret. If anything, Palpatine should have broadcast that fact everywhere, to show how even some Jedi realized how awful the Jedi Order was and defected to the Empire, and were welcomed and some even given positions of responsibility.
That likely would've been the plan had Anakin not been horribly injured at Mustafar. It'd be pretty difficult to hide the Vader-Anakin connection if a Lord Vader suddenly popped up after the Empire was formed and just happened to look and sound exactly like Anakin Skywalker
