Legends vs Canon vs Pop Culture

This might be more of a rant than anything else. I don't know if cg is able to bring heroes, that would be considered legends. Even perhaps beyond the boundaries of star wars. Create anybody as a hero...

There's no question as to how they can find a star wars hero in universe, or give us ones they create like the Jedi councilor, resistance trooper and so on. But perhaps reaching out to the right celebrity, or like pop culture created hero like who could it be batman or something, that could be used to broaden the fan base. Some out there haven't seen the original trilogy but have gotten into star wars from other stuff
