This is the crux of it. This and this alone should be enough to have someone from the dev team paying attention. Just like the consistent feedback I've seen about the STR. This is a game and if people aren't finding it fun then it's important to feed that back to the dev team. It's then up to them whether they feel enough people feel the same way that it's worth acting on.
All of the other responses berating/disagreeing with OP seem to be missing this central point.
