- On the theme of making his kit do something a bit different to other characters... I don't know how challenging this would be from a coding perspective, but how about the game runs a check so that were an attack to take any Empire below 50% health, all of that damage is taken by RG instead (even without him taunting), and its mitigated by some additional damage absorption, or perhaps he immediately recovers a % of health, and then triggers his taunt?
Something a little bit different but my thinking behind this is - as the OP stated - often by the time he's taunting it's a bit too late. Where an initial attack might take Palpy or someone else to below 50% health triggering the taunt, calls to assist (especially with multiple calls to assist) might well kill the character off and will not respond to RG's taunt until the next round.
Just a thought anyways :)
Oh, and give us his ship!! Empire need a proper tank so we can ditch Biggs ;)
Although I'm not sure you'd class the Royal Guard TIE Interceptior as a tank... still... I need that red ship in my life one way or another :p - Here's my kit for RG and EP:
