There's so much Crit hate in Arena that I've been considering trying a Poggle lead for droids. It would take a fair amount of time. Instead using crit damage and chance mods on droids. I'd be using offense mods along with defense and health mods. Instead of a crit damage triangle, I'd want offense. I'd want as many offense primary and secondary stats as I could get and still have a starting turn order.
Stacking all that offense on them. which will get multiplied by Poggle's lead, and again by his offense up could potentially make them hit close to as hard with him.
Math: 130% offense from mods shouldn't be too hard to reach between primary secondary and set bonuses to offense% and flat values added in.
so 1.3 * 1.3 * 1.5 = 2.535 or 253.5% damage when it all stacks up compared to 1.1 * 2.16 = 2.376 or 237.6% damage right now under an HK lead. Now there is a problem with not gaining tm, but Poggle's speed up for droids is pretty close to as good, and better in the Zaul meta since it isn't prevented by Daze.
If R2 doesn't fix droids under an HK lead fighting Zaul, then a Poggle lead with him could do the trick. Of course there are other problems that would need to be worked out, but I think this could greatly improve Droid effectiveness. Zarriss, Gk. Zaul, Zidious, All of them make droids much less effective. Now I have been thinking about this for a while and there are other things I would want to do with this team since it would basically be a B droid team. First off would be using different members in the team. This team would consist of Poggle(L), General Grievous (because his basic attack can't be evaded and he can make the whole enemy team squishier), IG-100 (for counter attacks, offense down, and he gains turn meter based on how often his special is evaded), B2 (who can gain full tm whenever an ally is evaded), and R2 who will lower the enemy's evade.
This comp will hit pretty hard without critting and has all sorts of evasion hate. If any droid team could "Smash" Zaul, this is probably it as it really takes away all the disadvantages that your standard droid comp has in today's arena and is LOADED with evasion hate. They won't be moving very slowly either thanks to Poggle giving speed up to droids. They won't be quick, but they won't be slow, and they will be tanky and have lots of counterattacks too.
