He certainly won't make them the team to beat, but he will give them the tools to be able to compete again.

Give it a try if you don't believe, in the end your r2 will be useful elsewhere
My Jawa Engineer's fast enough for my droids to go first on my server. I just need to Get R2 up and burning will let me beat Zaul teams. I can already come close.
