Sims per attempt are irrelevant. I loaded up on energy and went to town. Most it would let me do at a time was 20. Results:
9/20 (18 shards)
6/20 (12 shards)
7/20 (14 shards)
5/20 (10 shards)
2/9 (4 shards)
Total 29/89 (58 shards) = 32%. Right in line with the 33% always quoted.
Ignore anyone who says the way you sim matters in any way.
