The game is too fast moving for this "sense of achievement" to kick in in me. After 6 months the toon you've waited so long for is probably already obsolete and the power creep has moved up a couple of notches.
Plus, what sense of achievement? You clicked on a slide bar twice a day for 6 months and if the god of RNG blesses you, you get a couple of shards out of that? This is just dice rolling, for an insanely long period of time. Zero sense of achievement for me.
