I think a Mara Jade type character is Rays mom with Luke being her father, but thats not the point. I think Jade will come to a future movie like Theawn.

They brought Thrawn to Rebels, was he not Legends canon before they did that? Both are Zahn characters. I agree unlikely, but Thrawn makes it at least possible.

While I don’t think Rey’s parentage is settled (Kylo was just repeating her own fears and insecurities back to her, he had no special knowledge), the odds they introduce a Mara Jade into the series in the last of the trilogy are very low. Also, even if a Rey’s mom character were to be introduced, the name and characteristics would likely change. Kylo and Rey are not Jacen and Jaina. And I loved Jacen and Jaina.

Sadly I agree. So far, in my opinion, the books are vastly superior to the new movies. Wish Disney had paid that storyline more respect. I was hoping Zahn would drop Jade in the new Thrawn book, but unfortunatly he didn't. I had high hopes that Luke was actually standing over Jades grave in the Last Jedi. (Opening the door for a Jade movie of some kind) We are fond of female lead characters now and I cant think of a better character.
