Please increase from 5 to 8 for Hard Node
Please increase number of attempts of Hard node from 5 to 8 for temporary again. This is very difficult to get new toons shards with 5 attempts.

Yes it is and the doubling up of shards just gives you shard shop currency. If they didn't do that you still would have gotten zero of what you wanted.
The rest of your post is a misunderstanding of how drop rates work.
