Labor day weekend. C'mon cg. I know we have to squeeze alot in, but running guild events for an entire month. Bad form. I bet your offices will be closed monday?

I guess I don’t understand why it’s harder to play on a holiday than it is a full work day. I’d much rather have events on holidays when I can actually have time to play.

Family? Friends? Events? Parties? Celebrations? I'd rather do those than be tied down to a game.

I get the feeling you have a job where you can play the game while you work. Is that correct? That’s about the only reason I can think of you would rather have events during a work day, and for those people that makes complete sense to me. For me, it’s 100x easier to find a few minutes to play in between social gatherings then it is in a place where I could get fired for having my phone out.
  • The only reason not to have events during a US holiday would be if problems were expected and CG staff needed to be around to fix it. There have been enough TWs that there is no reasonable expectation for issues to arise.

I'm in the US and it stinks to have events on a holiday weekend but it's a global game. Everyone gets to deal with it at some point.

But I also agree with the OP. Running TW on holidays is poor form.

You do realize that this game is played all over the world, right? And that different countries have different holidays? No labourday here in my country (in Europe).

Yes, but the developers ARE from the US. As is a significant portion of the player base. And they ideally would take holidays from all countries into consideration when scheduling game-wide events.

The playerbase in Europe is potentially larger. Not that it matters, since (once again) the playerbase is spread all around the globe. The developers' location doesn't matter either. They develop the game for the playerbase — not themselves. The only cases where the developers' location matters is when rolling out larger updates. I think they learned their lesson to not roll it out just before their weekends and holidays.

Considering various holidays all over.the world would make scheduling a living hell for the developers.
