Total sidetrack: negative status effects can only be resisted, not dodged. But most negative effects are applied by an attack which can be dodged. In some cases an attack can even be dodged but the status effect still applied.
Mind tricks, for instance, is not an attack. It can't be dodged. It can be resisted. Against a dooku lead, mind tricks won't proc offense up if resisted.
Poe heals when he resists a negative status effect. Magnatrooper gains tm when he resists a negative status effect. This is different than dodging. It relies on tenacity of the target and potency of the attacker. Evasion lead does not affect this ability to resist.
Back on sorta track: there is no evasion team that can't be beat. So what if Evasion leads are fairly popular on your server? Ben and dooku are easy to obtain. Han and rg are essential to everyone's arsenals and they are easy to obrain. Maybe one reason evasion leads are popular is because these teams are fast to build from what is in GW and arena store. Variety may be coming on the horizon, if u have patience. Anyhow phasma and rey teams are just as viable and are more popular on my server, atm.
If u can be competetive for free, right away, using Evasion, a lot of people will use evasion. Droid and clone and phasma and ackbar leads are all competetive, too. And more squads will be competetive once the toons are leveled and geared and starred. Or maybe not. Time will tell.
Everyone uses rg. Everyone uses qgj. Everyone doesn't use sid. Is this a problem due to evasion? Or some toons not as good in the confines of arena? Some toons and squads are better against certain stages of the rancor... and raid doesn't change. At least arena teams change over time.
