I think most of us have been here long enough to know what you can achieve with FTP....... For me it's totally ok to pay to play and win, as long as you own up to it. Most FTP players are not top of shard in both fleet and Arena, especially with the recent flood of meta changing characters being introduced. From the Chaze bundle on out since last year, it was difficult to be competitive in FTP.
They didn't even start paying out crystals for top fleet finishes until very recently.......
I used to be FTP until I no longer wanted to grind it out anymore. It was either leave the game or pay to play, and I chose to pay. Even then it's still very difficult to reach and maintain number 1 for payout given the competitiveness.
Anyway, I think it's ok for EA to do what they do. They need to make money, and someone is willing to pay.
