A F2P can take her.
I have a drop of 9,5 shards/day and 10k crystals saved.
Always done 3x refresh, 1200 energy saved for double drop.
But with this daily average, I need more crystals than I can store in 16 days.
With more luck or with more crystals(2/3k), I would have succeeded.
So it's not impossible, but very difficult.
