Perfect! If we Get a Road Ahead before Tax day or even a few days after, we all have to give mad props to CG/Carrie on this one.
People should not give "mad props" for someone fulfilling the most basic of roles in their job description and a promise to their customer
No, it shows they’re listening to the community. Before this thread I thought we’d get the road ahead in May... but submitting the Road Ahead for approval this early and telling us so shows they’re listening to the community. Other Game developers have communication (MSF)
That still doesn't mean that you should give them "mad props" for as I said... fulfilling their basic job description and setting out to what they promised their customer.
If an employee shows up to late work once a week (and somehow didn't get fired) then went an entire week of doing what was asked for them, the only congratuations you would receive would be exceedingly condescendingly sarcastic.
Them "listening to the community" is literally just them being prepared for work, they're not doing anything that should be commended for their effort. If you want to tell them that they've exceeded expectations, that's quite the indictment on how little you think of them if their expectations are to be late and poor at their job.
Yesterday I was at KFC. A customer came in and was astonishingly condescending towards the employees (had to wait too long). My roommate works there and the owner won’t schedule more than 3 employees during the shift (cheap)... so the customer in my opinion was absolutely clueless about anything. You can’t run it smoothly with 3 employees. Don’t take your frustration out on them.
Likewise I don’t think you get anything about the process and approvals from higher ups that CG has to jump through. But complaining is easy.
