Ship challenges for new players hitting 60

Ya it's bad, and I got her all hyped up for ship battles. I've been "ok" since the update because I could just sim my current challenges. Not looking forward to when I'm ready for the next tier since I'm still relatively new myself to the game.
I was trying to guide her on which ships to focus on once she finally unlocks ship battles. But its just been one huge disappointment for her and she is all sad that she cant at least finish her daily activities anymore.
So from this day she will no longer be able to finish daily activities because she cant complete the daily ship challenge! Who knows how long it will take her to gear/enhance new ships ESPECIALLY since she cant even complete the first darn tier!!!
I know if I was her I would probably quit playing. Having to probably go months no longer being able to complete the daily is a huge loss for a new player. I bought her a 19.99 crystal pack during the crystal bonus sale and was planning on regularly buying her crystals as she approached higher levels, but to hell with that idea now.
