Ship Upgrades

Exactly what qualifies as a "ship upgrade"? I've been sitting at 48/50 for a week now on the achievements panel, and I just leveled Bistan's U-Wing to 50 so I could "upgrade" it's Opening Move & Tactical Comms abilities, but didn't get any credit for those.

Earlier today, I also upgraded abilities on 3 or 4 other ships, from the ship abilities to the crew member abilities (the ones in the ship's screen, not upgrading the character abilities) and didn't get credit for that either.

What gives?
