I have 4.2m GP and have spent several thousand dollars on this game over the last 3 years. I am the exact player you want in this game. I'll spend 300-400 dollars on the new meta if that what it takes. I love this game.
You think you're making the whales happy by giving them a new character that is very exclusive. You're right. They are going to be happy. There's a flaw in your logic however. The whales haven't spent any money in over a year. They maxed out all their characters long ago and they are ready for anything you throw at them. They all get top 10 in both arena and fleet and the crystals that come with it. They have every piece of gear sitting and waiting. They have 10s of thousands of crystals sitting on the shelf and wait for you to drop the next meta.
The people that spend money are what we call dolphins. We spend what it takes to stay in top guilds, but aren't the juggernauts. We'll always have the meta but we won't have CUP g12 because we are still working on relevant characters. I have a guild mate that has 5.3 million GP to my 4.2. He's actually spent less on this game than I have, but he did all his spending in the first 18 months that the game was out, as opposed to my spending as I go.
Dropping an event that is 3 days long with 2 days notice is going to force more people to quit than to spend money. Most of us dolphins have a set income. Darth Revan is only 2 weeks old. Most of us, myself included, won't spend another 200+ dollars for Malak because we simply we already spent all our disposable income on DR.
Please space these "panic farm" events out further and give us a little more notice than 2 days, because myself, in addition to a healthy chunk of your income, can't keep up the spending.
