It was fascinatingly focused on that Hyperdrive garbage though. It was like talking to a parent who won’t shut up about their honor roll kid who actually makes their bed or some other lame “great child” metric, for which I have zero use.

I also got the survey but didn’t buy the bundle.

The optimist in me filled out the survey as honestly as possible in the hopes it might be used.

The cynic in me thought they were going to use it as marketing for how much people like the Hyperdrive Bundle.

I’ve never spent a penny on the game and got the survey, I didn’t do it mind but spending or the volume thereof isn’t relevant.

Odds are they’ll use it to calibrate future bundles. They likely won’t change the Hyperdrive Bundle at all now that people have bought it, but all data can be applied to future packs.

They have no need for data that shows how pleased people were with it. It’s not like CG is a start up that needs to use that information to get investor capital. They made a pile of money off it, but that’s a one-time windfall. The feedback about things like the perceived value and rankings of journey guide versus bundle versus ......oop, call me Rick Santorum because my brain farted and I can’t think of the third thing they were asking about. But, anyway, that information is more useful than any marketing satisfaction tool your cynical side can come up with!

Being wrong on a forum isn't what that dumb phrase means. That dumb phrase means someone is intentionally making up a story and spreading it through astroturfed social media in order to influence the thoughts and decisions of others. Branding any mistake--especially one where the mistaker accepted the correction instead of gaslighting the readers and claiming to have actually been right all along--with that dumb phrase cheapens the meaning of that dumb phrase and serves to dismiss or downplay actual examples of that dumb phrase in action and thus help excuse and normalize the practice.

Most of the questions were about the bundle. What’d you like, what didn’t you like, how would you rate the value 1-10, that sort of thing. There were a couple other questions asking general satisfaction with the update and a spot for any other feedback you had.

But mostly I think they were just gathering data on how the Bundle worked out for people.

(If it matters, my response to that was that I was generally happy, but disappointed that I didn’t at least get shard shop currency for all the characters that should have been upgraded but were too strong already.)
