@Moggey the problem with your example is you have a 139 gp guild 's 125. That's a mismatch even if they both have 50 players.
For another thing, .5m gp per player won't be 50% more teams per player. If a 2.5m gp player has 8, a 3 million gp player should have 8+.2×8 or 10.(that's rounded up, 2. Is 25% of 8).
A 50 player 2.5m per player guild has 125m gp.
A ~125m gp guild of 3m players would have 41, for a total of 124 gp.
Going by those numbers the 50 player guild would have 400 teams. And the 41 player guild would have 410. The first guild would have more meta toons however. 50 cls vs 41.
If you assume 3m gp gives you 9.6 teams rather than 10. Then the 3m guild has 393.6 teams vs 400. Which matches them having 1m less gp.
Basicly, big differences in active gp are an issue but I'm not sure just dropping people helps you unless you get matched against a guild with significantly less active gp. Unless there is some effect where you get matched vs a guild with less gp if not full, but I don't think there is. You can't see the active gp so it's hard to tell, but in the Times my guild has less than fifty I think we have been matched vs guilds with both more and less gp. All pretty close however
