Pointless, meaning there is no merit at all. If you are at a disadvantage, it is because you have too many low-level characters on your roster, not because some members of the opposing guild decided to sit out.
Solution: there is none, but you can try concentrating your development on specific squads instead of trying to build your whole roster evenly. And stop unlocking characters you don't intend to immediately develop to a high level.
I honestly think u are just burying ur head in the sand if u think GP manipulation doesn’t happen, isn’t a thing.
