Firstly thanks to everyone for sharing your view points, always interesting to get other peoples views on our feelings towards the game... and if that leads to other off topic issues so be it and why not lol....
My underlying concern and reason for posting was also linked to me being bored with no news, limited communications and as stated above actual game time is limited and that is frustrating so I used the forums to share my views hoping CG get what I think is a massive growing problem for their game..... assuming the conspiracy theorists are wrong and they are not self destructing in the hope to ween us on to their new star wars game, although I agree is plausible longer term, right now SWGOH makes solid revenue, and revenue in this economy is king so this game is not going anywhere soon IMO.
On the game time issue I raised, in general I am ok with the daily activities being simmable and done in 10-20 minutes I have busy days and I choose how much time I want to spend and I don't want to go back to GW frustration - but they could make is better and optional. Personally I much prefer engaging with the community, watching the YouTubers share insights and tips, Discord banter and generally I have more fun there than in game...
BUT I think the general SWGOH player community is suffering due to lack of communication, good engagement with devs (i.e. they need to come out and be transparent on the Arnauld account ban issue and explain) lack of excitement (I use to love the crumb puzzles and teasers that got us in a frenzy of speculation), and like most I am awaiting and hoping for a positive road ahead...
Otherwise I accept this game will always introduce new levels, tiers to drive the micro-economics of the game to make money, "that is the(ir) way". I have no issue with that, CG put out the content and we decide what we spend or don't spend...
But this is where I think the game desperately needs not just new content if that is characters and packs but we need the ability to have fun with a sandbox mode or something I can choose to use my roster as I please that is challenging and engaging,
Personally I don't see the need for rewards in a sandbox mode, whilst it would be nice as would Live PvP in the future, right now I want to just hop in to battle and choose to play a GG team to practice for TW or something to put a smile on my face... Essentially it should just enable us to err "Stay and Play" which is ironic given the limited ability to actually play.
For me personally the latest content has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.
Lightside Geo TB - Might be WAI, but does anyone actually enjoy it? I don't know anyone who does.. I play it because of progression not for fun....Specifically Ki-Adi-Mundi which is a coin toss with mods and strategy with maxed relics..
GAC - 3v3 I deploy my roster, collect the minimum rewards, interestingly others do the same and sometimes I still finish with a zeta reward, which can be interpreted many ways. I really like GAC 5v5 but perhaps on running a GAC they can let players select 3, 4, 5 or even 6 character GAC and then do the match-ups so everyone can experiment and have fun in different ways - so this month as I'm dictated to on the content I have minimum effort and fun in GAC 3v3 as it does not accommodate what I like.
Galactic Legends - Event for me was a huge disappointment, although the characters are amazingly OP, the net result is less time to play raids, I still have little projects on improving my Sith raid teams which fell out the window with Kylo, so I get 20 minutes to test out a team, although I can and have solo'd the raid I get more fun from the old fashioned way as I'm less bothered about the rewards, its about the challenge and SLKylo is not a challenge when completing a Raid...
So that said and as someone who has spent money on this game (day 1 account at 7.4M GP), my concern other than the latest content was not well received, what can I actually do with my roster outside of the dictated events and Arena. Currently I go in to the game I look at my favourited characters and think about who I want to gear up, improve mods twirl about a few characters that look cool with animations and go back to the grind of progression... Given this boredom I have very little inclination to invest further in the latest packs or characters and if others like me also have no reason to invest this eventually will effect the micro-economics of the game.
What I also do not understand is that CG in the recent Q&A post doesn't seem to understand that investing in giving us game-time for free like a sandbox mode keeps an active game, that promotes progression and protects the longevity of the game, currently with more character content adds to our large rosters with limited use on where to use them, so why would I invest in new characters and packs and therefore this over time reduces their revenue...
Thanks for reading, stay safe and lets keep the community strong, and hope that really bad feeling is nothing to worry about and CG have the droids we are looking for....
