I've thought the same thing. I get anxious while thinking about spending $100 for 19,000 crystals which only gets me a 5* character. But if it was simply $300, then I'd be more tempted to buy it because I'm immediately getting the value for my money, rather than spending time on opening the packs and thinking about my "buyer's remorse" while doing it. If I could just get the character, then I'm instantly happy while I go gear him/her up while not thinking too much of what I spent. And don't say "that's the point why they do it the way they do is so that you can think about not going spending crazy." That's balogna. You already know you're going to spend the money amyways before you buy the packs. Why not save the whales (and even dolphins) some time.
