Fact is some characters have been so good you can put in any team at low stars and have them do well. Nightsisters are way less of an abomination than chaze when they first came out. You could slap chirrut and baze at 4* in most team comps and beat most teams in arena. Neither one of those two required a zeta to do that, whereas nightsisters require several to do really well
you are misinformed. Yes some characters, especially tanks and support heros are viable at low stars, but with Zombie being released it is the first time in this game where characters at low stars AND low gear are being rewarded

weak old ben was used, yes, but it was never rewarded as NS Zombie is now
still, zombi wasn't the first character at low stars and gear being rewarded, wich is what you said. That zombi at low gear/stars is way better than old ben was at low gear/stars is irrelvant.
