Why would it be WRONG for NSZ to need to be gear 12 or 11 to do what she can do now at g6 against G12 teams?

Weak Zombie is not top META either. It's just as much a gimmick as Old Ben was. It's not the zombie's synergy with Assaj's unique or Daka's unique, that win the game for you. I see geared/promoted zombies in top—20 NS teams as well. Furthermore, one of the reasons, that weak Old Ben wasn't as widely used, was, that by the time he could improve the top teams, many players had already geared him and promoted him. Keep in mind, that this gimmick appeared before mods (and speed mods). That extra speed and offense early in the match could win the game for you, and Old Ben would most likely die early back when 'everybody' were using AoE.
A weak zombie being usefull is no different than a no gear Ackbar would actually be prefered in a hAAT team (AA(L), Assaj, CLS, BB8 and Thrawn). You really want AA to just die ASAP, so that only CLS will be called to assist. But yes, most people already have him geared due to his use in rebel teams and as fleet commander. That's why you don't see people soloing hAAT with a weak AA. However, it's not the missing gear on AA, that makes the team great and a geared AA would not make the team weak — exactly as the case of NS zombie.
If you and the OP are just as upset about the usefulness of a weak AA as you are about a weak zombie being usefull, then you are consistent — otherwise, you're not.
On a side note:
In the Nute (L), Leia, Spy, Zombie and R2D2 team Nute doesn't have to be geared to be usefull and a maxed out zombie would actually be better than weak one. Nute would do the trick if only his leader ability is maxed.
More investment = more success? Are you saying that a fully maxed Hoth Rebel Soldier should have the most success? I have no problem with an easy farm like Biggs has more success.
