The sunset of SWGoH?

With the Ahnaldgate lately and Jedi Knight Luke coming soon some people predict this to be the end of the game. With these thoughts something came to my mind.

The Devs told us that all events were handmade and that they develop a new platform where they can make new events more easy. This almost sounds like they just build something that can generate events automatically like for full auto/ no maintenance mode. I absolutely hope that i'm wrong with this but i don't believe anymore in anything.

    Hey, that’s not funny :/

They keep saying that they are working on something big, and I don't think that's a complete lie. Therefore, I don't think the game is ending, they will at least mine that new thing for all it's worth before that. Unless the new thing is SWGOH 2, which is actually something I would be on board with. This game carries a lot of baggage from past iterations, both visible (the whole ship-pilot system, for example) and behind-the-scenes (spaghetti code), so a fresh start could be a good idea. Especially when some form of account transfer is available.

    That would be great actually

I would hope it failed...they need to fix this mess of no content now. Hope the “big thing” they are working on is better than the garbage GLs events they were working on for months. Still don’t know how that took them so long to produce such low quality.

This game has become too expensive.

And here I thought it was free...

Nothing is free. This game is no exception. Some play for free, so others are willing to pay HUGE in order to dominate the free players. And the company has a business case of milking a few (addicted) super spenders, rather than a business case of quality content, where many people pay a decent amount.

In others words: if the game was truly free, there'd be no money to pay for salaries. Right!
  • last year (around this time) there were 80 million players (or accounts) so lets put this into perspective.

if 1/2 left the game it brings it down to 40 mil. lets say 10% are not active at all, down to 36 mil. lets throw another 50% casual or dont really play that much - down to 18 mil. Take another 10 million that disappeared altogether from Mando's disintegration we are down to 8 million. So, less than 2% of the people out there are outraged (going by the number of posts around ahnalds b**tch session. If you were a multimillion dollar company, would you bend over backwards for that many people? This game does not need you tubers to promote it. The name does it all and it would be just as successful without them. Wake up and stop thinking the "community" means a million people because it doesn't

Forgot to say - Game is not dying because ahnald or MG or Bulldog say it is. Get over themselves. They don't have that much power at all. all illusion.

why are they addicted? You say they pay for virtual stuff but what is the difference between paying $300 for a ticket to a concert or $100 for a baseball game. Those are over in a few hours with nothing tangible. Don't say memories because this game creates memories too. I spend so that makes me addicted? OK Armchair Freud. People spend $ on what gives them joy, because you wouldn't do it doesn't make it stupid or addiction. By that logic, everyone who spends $100 at a bar on drinks is an alcoholic. (no memories there and over in minutes not years like this game)
