FTP here and it always amazes how deluded whales must be to try to justify such a ridiculous pov. I'm willing to bet 99% of FTP dropped like a rock when Chaze first came out. P2W has had a huge advantage for months and now that they're finally attainable for FTP you complain? You can't be serious. As far as "whales facing extinction", this game is doing great financially. It's either ignorance or intentional misinformation on your part.
I read through this thread, and didn't see whales complaining about Chaze being (moderately) farmable. They're complaining about the combination of the new release cadence and characters that are either not high-end viable at 7* or high-end viable at 3* reducing the incentive to spend.
It's an interesting twist on how things were before. Previously, several great characters were released as auridium exclusives, so spenders had exclusive access to some period of time. That period varied (Rex was well over a year, B2 was something like 2 months), and there was no way to know what that exclusivity period was going to be. Now, you have no real exclusivity, since everyone gets the initial unlock, and a more defined period of exclusivity. In the past there was uproar over B2 because the exclusivity period was so short for the whales, but the fact that some had long exclusivity, and were highly sought after (Rex, Sun Fac), gave a continuing incentive to spend.
Now, you have predictability -- you know that if you're buying from the marquee packs, you're getting about 6 weeks of "exclusivity" (for certain game modes and/or certainly levels of viability) over dolphins, and about 3 months of "exclusivity" over F2P. So you know that it's going to be a certain period of time and can determine whether or not it's worthwhile to spend for that window. That being said, I also understand the point that, if there isn't new content demanding the use of these characters, and these characters aren't high-end arena viable at a minimum (and really, not an upgrade in any way to what you currently have available), there's no good reason for a whale to sink $400 into starring and gearing them.
I certainly don't think whales are entitled to an auto-win button. That being said, I think they are entitled to some degree of advantage in the only competitive game mode out there at the moment -- arena. This is coming from one of the (apparently) 1% of F2P that didn't sink like a stone with the release of Chaze, but instead adjusted and adapted.
