Thermal detonators.

A few questions.
1. What form of damage do they do?
2. How is said damage calculated? I notice Zams upgrades list % health damage, but no one else's does.

    Question 3. Why do thermal detonators rely on potency to be successful when they can ALSO be evaded?
    And considering that they ARE the ability and NOT a bonus status effect attached to an ability like everything else that requires potency, it's probably the worst design I've ever seen. Using a thermal detonator is the equivalent of using rey's flurry of blows if it had an 80% chance to miss.
    Or using Royal guard when his taunt only has a 20% chance to proc.
