Thoughts on Thermal Detonators?

I don't see the point of detonators (at least not right now) because of the Arena battles lasting a couple turns. Speed for some characters are two high so some characters die too quickly, detonators ...

I always try to load them on the tankiest character I'll kill last, someone like 5s, but most of the time I end up killing everyone before the damn things ever get a chance to explode. They just feel like a waste.
