Thoughts on Thermal Detonators?

I don't see the point of detonators (at least not right now) because of the Arena battles lasting a couple turns. Speed for some characters are two high so some characters die too quickly, detonators ...

I send in only lando butt naked and he comes back with 4 ladies and the full pimp getup. Along with 3 stars and my credits gift wrapped.

how do you guys even get lando shards? i have done around 30 of his shard battles and have come out with only 2 shards. i've done a mix of both of his missions (some on the double drop day, which i got none of) and the drop rate is terrible, General Grievous is easier to farm (for me)...
