I also got him this round with all Phoenix G8 (no Sabine). Had three tries then thing was done. There's a good post in the Thrawn subforum that explains how-to. I had to swap all mods, got all toons over 200 speed and it was really quite easy. Complete Squad were standing after Thrawn has fallen with even left protection on them.
And, to be honest, this was the first time I played Phoenix by myself. Until the 7* event I always hit auto, cause I didn't like the mechanics (or better - didn't understand :# )
