I think the old GW was a bit like a simulator, when the last node was pretty much a simulator for fighting against the latest meta team. It can be a pain in the *** to try out the best way to beat the meta team but it's still better than blind-try it out in the arena.
Only thing was when you lost which 99.9% of us did, you could no longer use those toons which means your less likely to win due to losing strong toons
