So much wrong in this thread.
Capital Games is not a non-profit organization. They exist to be profitable, not only do they need to make money to pay the bills and maintenance expense of this game, not only do they need to make money to pay for their employee salaries, but they also need to be profitable above that to justify their investors' involvement. And they should be. They're completely entitled to charge for what they are providing (and you're completely entitled to choose to pass on that if you wish)
We should retired terms like "cash grab" and "pay to win" from our lexicon, and we need to stop labelling every real money transaction as "predatory". There is absolutely nothing wrong with CG charging for their product (a product that would not exist without this monetization). Furthermore, CG should be lauded for making this product so approachable to engage with for new players without paying, and frankly should also be getting significant praise for how they've handled paid players in this game. They've intentionally made spending a more enticing prospect, not by making free life harder, but by providing reasonable value from their real money transactions and lowering the bar to entry (again in terms of real money) at the same time. You won't fault a fast food joint that stimulates sales by lowering prices and adding bacon on their cheeseburgers would you? Is that predatory?
The online community has suckled at the teat of anti-corporate, consistently negative, instant gratification with no effort social media drivel for far too long. Posts like these are offensive.
