Vehicles
So with the Territory Battles giving us a variant of the classic Battle of Hoth, I'm really missing Star Wars vehicles in this game. Spaceships are certainly cool, but speeders and walkers have also been a big part of the stories (and toys) many of us grew up on.
Just my preliminary idea for how they could be implemented: Unlike ships, where a ship is kind of like a character in its own right, but has to have a specif character assigned to it to unlock/function, I'd go the other way and make vehicles more like Mods. You still have a entry for a vehicle similar to ships and characters, which can be leveled up, maybe have its own mods added (maybe "customizations" instead of mods... different weapons, engines, armor, and so on can go into customization slots... perhaps looking like ship gear from SWG), However, each vehicle is not unique, and can be assigned to any character by assigning to a Vehicle slot on the character similar to a mod slot. The big difference there being that a vehicle would not add to a character's performance in most combat (it would still add to Galactic Power). From there we have a whole new class of mission types, similar to ship combat, but without having specific characters tied to each vehicle. Vehicle missions could have numerous objectives as well, in addition to typical PvP/PvE combat, there could be races, escape and evade missions, maybe even a Junkyard scrounge ...
Ok, break in train of thought, a Junkyard Scrounge mission for characters would be a great way to acquire components like frame, armor, engine(s), weapon(s), and so on to construct a vehicle, instead of always just buying one outright... It would also make an interesting crafting system experiment.
Anyway, there's a ton of ways to exploit the idea for the fun of the playerbase and profit of the development company. Perhaps some of my ideas will make viable inspiration.
