The insurgence of high-dollar packs and rushing of new content for $$$ is most likely to make up for older players quitting. Gotta keep the revenue up.
This game doesn't seem to be set up well for newer players being it would take forever for them to reach viable levels for current content, so milking the existing player base is all they have left. It will be milked until only a select few whales are left and then the game will finally take a dirt nap. It's not a matter of if it will happen but when. No doubt EA/CG are aware of this so they're getting all they can while it lasts.
